Assessment Day Spring 24: CT Norming Session

Instructions

STEP 1: Find the folder relevant to the class(es) with artifacts you will rate. Individually score each artifact using the rubric available (if needed, you can make copies of the rubric.

STEP 2: Come back together as the larger class norming group to discuss your results. The goal of these discussions is to assess students’ work in a consistent and accurate manner regardless of who is assessing the work. Try to reach an agreement about the suitable rating for each of the artifacts being assessed by explaining your decisions if they differ. In your discussions you may review the rubric to clarify its use and suggest slight adjustments to language in the rubric but the adjustments cannot deviate from the Critical Thinking SLO.

STEP 3: Come back together as the entire norming group to discuss, decide upon, and document any suggested changes to the rubric. These suggestions will come back to the CLAS Committee for consideration. Then, determine the Goal or Target for General Education student performance on this goal.
