When you conduct research or draft a project be sure to:
- Distinguish direct quotations from your own summary or paraphrase.
- Identify the source you are taking notes from. Use a consistent system for notes taking.
- Label print outs or documents that you have—always know the original source.
- Email article citations to yourself from library databases—some will even email in different citation styles!
