Tips to Succeed in Online Courses
Succeed in Your Online Courses
- Confirm Technical Requirements: Before your course starts be sure you have access to a computer that will work with Blackboard courses. Also, make sure you know how to navigate a course so that you don't have to spend time during the course trying to figure out the technology. See technical requirements or visit with an Eagle Tech.
- Connect with your Instructor(s) Early: Instructors will post their contact information in the course of the syllabus. Instructors are available to help throughout the courses.
- Create a Schedule: Plan to dedicate two-to-three hour time blocks to log in and complete assignments. Some instructors will create courses that are easy to navigate and have clear expectations.
- Stay Organized: Keep assignment due dates in a calendar, and create online or paper folders for each week.
- Have a Consistent Workspace: You need a place to study or complete assignments, whether that's at a coffee shop, the school library, or at home. Choose to study and complete assignments, make it a consistent location, and ensure it is free of outside interference.
