Permalink to Library Resources: Permalink Library Resources

Links from Aggregator Databases

Faculty and course developers may use this guide to create persistent links to library resources to embed into Blackboard. Select a vendor tab for specific instructions.

Permalinks in EBSCO can be found on the bibliographic page of an article/book entry.

Look for this section on the right hand side of the screen:

Access: If you set up access during the trial period, your access remains the same. If not, you can set up an account by going to https://www.jove.com/account. Your NNMC account is the ticket to getting into the resource.

Integrate Material into BlackBoard: If you have an account with JOVE, you should be able to grab embed code for any videos you are interested in having students watch. This embed code contains a token that should allow students to watch the videos without a login prompt.

Click on a record/title and look for the "stable URL".

EVEN IF THE ARTICLE SAYS IT IS FREE YOU MUST TEST THE LINK! A good like should include .nnmc.idm.oclc.org in the link:

Once your requested Kanopy video has been procured, you will receive an email from Kanopy. You can now link to or embed the video into Blackboard.

  1. Click on the link provided in the email. This is a unique URL that will only allow students affiliated with NNMC to watch the video.
  2. Click on Share, then Embed.
  3. Copy Embed code.

Now, you can paste the embed code in the html editor of your Blackboard course. Go to https://nnmc.libguides.com/kanopy for further information on Kanopy.

Not everything in our subscription to ScienceDirect is available full-text!

Run a search for your topic and look for articles that are designated "full-text access" or "open access" (see below).

  • Follow the directions for creating permalinks in EBSCO if the book is an EBSCO ebook.
  • If the book is available in print, the permalink should be generated in Worldcat's Discovery layer (aka the Books & More tab), even if you found the book in EBSCO.
